Her work with women across rural Australia highlights the deep impact of farming challenges on families and communities.
“I’m looking forward to conversations about how we farm into the future - balancing resilience, sustainability, and our communities' needs,” she said.
“As a clinical psychologist working with women across rural Australia, I see how deeply change - especially around renewable energy projects and shifting land use - impacts families and our communities.
“Whether it’s understanding the information overload, having conversations and making decisions that are most aligned with our values - I’m excited to bring a critical eye for scientific evidence and a wellbeing lens to these conversations for an emotional and environmentally sustainable future."
She also expressed her admiration for the Rural Women's Day events.
“Rural Women’s Day is a powerful space for rural women to come together, be seen, speak honestly and support one another. I love the courage, connection and community that grows from these events - and the way it validates not just what we do, but who we are. It’s a celebration of strength, and solidarity in rural life.”
At the Rural Women’s Day conference in Ballarat, Rebecca will share her experiences from the Farmers for Climate Action Farming Forever National Summit. She will also be hosting a workshop, where RWD attendees can engage in meaningful discussions facilitated by Rebecca herself.
