The Dragons this week teamed up with Major Partner Squadron Energy to deliver the club's Best You Can Be Blitz to a host of schools throughout the Riverina.

Rising star Ryan Couchman made the overnight trip alongside the Dragons Community Team to deliver the program to six schools whilst also hosting a Come & Try Clinic in Bookham and a Win The Morning event in Gundagai.

Some locals braved the cold to attend the Win The Morning event where everybody went for a half-hour walk across town and had a chat before receiving gifts, taking photos, and getting autographs.

The crew paid visits to Bowning Public School, Binalong Public School, Jugiong Public School, Gundagai South Public School, St Patrick's Primary School Gundagai and Gundagai Public School.

Canberra Raiders star Grace Kemp was also on hand alongside the Raiders Community Team for the visits to Bowning and Binalong.

The team spoke to students about resilience and the importance of developing healthy habits before running through drills and games.

The activities are designed to help the students improve their rugby league skills whilst also teaching lessons on how resilience can be shown on the field, in the classroom, or at home.

They also handed out Squadron Energy gift packages to the children which included a 2025 Dragons Team Poster, Dragons cap, a drink bottle, a drawstring bag, Dragons stickers and a handball.

“This is the second trip I’ve been fortunate enough to be a part of this season, and it was awesome,” Couchman said.

“Not being able to play at the moment hurts but getting to be involved with these sorts of initiatives is such a rewarding feeling. The kids out here are great; they’re really enthusiastic and welcoming and get involved with the program. I remember the buzz of being in primary school and having athletes come and visit us, so any chance I get to give back is great.”
