Squadron Energy is pleased to welcome the Australian Energy Market Operator's (AEMO) latest Quarterly Energy Dynamics report, which highlights the significant growth in renewable energy capacity in Australia’s National Electricity Market (NEM).

AEMO’s figures from the March quarter of 2025 reveal wind generation grew by 18%, and battery output surged by 86%, reaching all-time highs. Additionally, this has seen a 5.1% decline in total emissions across the energy system.

Squadron Energy CEO Rob Wheals said the latest report from AEMO reaffirms we are on the right track in transitioning Australia’s wholesale electricity market to be powered by renewable energy.

“Squadron Energy remains deeply committed to getting on with the job of delivering renewable energy projects that will accelerate Australia’s transition to clean energy.

“We believe that the steady growth in renewable energy capacity and the decline of climate pollution in our electricity system is yet another positive step in the journey of transitioning Australia’s energy system.

“Squadron Energy will continue to play a leading role in this transition, with 2 gigawatts (GW) of renewable energy in operation and under construction.

“We are also equally committed to lifting the bar on genuine community engagement and ensuring the long-lasting legacy benefits of the renewables transition are felt in regional communities."
