Wellington’s rising swimming stars are making waves this season, thanks to the generous support of Squadron Energy.

Squadron's support of the Wellington Amateur Swimming Club has helped ensure local swimmers have access to top-tier training and development opportunities, with funds covering lane hire fees for the club’s weekly squad training.

This funding has allowed more young athletes to train at a high level without increased financial strain on families.

"Squadron Energy’s support helped us remove financial barriers and keep swimming accessible to everyone. Their investment isn’t just in our club—it’s in the future of our young athletes and in fostering a stronger, healthier community," Club President Carman Gain said.

Squadron Energy’s involvement also extended to subsidising the John Gemmell 4-Week Intensive Swimming Program, a January initiative that offers younger swimmers structured, daily lessons to build technique and confidence. The financial boost meant a significant rise in enrolments, ensuring more children had access to professional coaching in a supportive environment.

This partnership reflects Squadron Energy’s commitment to fostering community wellbeing beyond its core business. By supporting young swimmers, the company is contributing to healthier lifestyles, promoting water safety, and encouraging the next generation of athletes.

With more swimmers in the pool and stronger community engagement, the Wellington Amateur Swimming Club is celebrating a successful season - one that wouldn’t have been possible without Squadron Energy’s meaningful support.

As the club looks to the future, this partnership promises to keep Wellington’s young swimmers moving forward with confidence.
