Squadron Energy welcomes the 2023-24 Federal Budget and the inclusion of measures which will ensure we meet our renewable energy targets and deliver the transition in a way which brings reliable, cheap and clean energy to everyone.

As a leading renewable energy developer and operator, Squadron Energy is committed to working with the Federal Government to deliver Rewiring the Nation. The timely delivery of transmission is critical to support the connection of more renewables and see our nation prosper as a clean energy powerhouse which brings the community on the renewable energy journey.

That means supporting upskilling opportunities and enabling regional economic development. We acknowledge the establishment of the National Reconstruction Fund and the National Net Zero Authority as critical in supporting these outcomes, along with improving supply chain resilience and ensuring businesses are positioned to realise the opportunities presented by the net zero economic transformation.

We look forward to the establishment of the Powering Australia Industry Growth Centre, which will support Australian businesses looking to manufacture, commercialise and adopt renewable technologies.

We also welcome $2 million in funding to support First Nations communities to engage in relevant planning processes – community involvement and social licence are central to our success.

We acknowledge importance of the $12 billion contribution of the Rewiring the Nation investment towards transmission, which is critical to delivering renewable energy across the east coast of Australia, and the support for clean dispatchable power through the Capacity Investment Scheme.

We are proud to be leading the clean energy transition and look forward to continuing to work in a supportive environment which enables us to contribute to meeting the Federal Government's 82% renewable energy target by 2030.
