The St George Illawarra Dragons have wrapped another successful Community Blitz after visiting schools and hosting workshops throughout the state’s Central West.

In partnership with Squadron Energy, The Best You Can Be Blitz saw the club speak to students about resilience and making positive choices around health and wellbeing.

NRLW stars Keele Browne and Ella Koster hosted the workshops across the region for three days last week.

Koster relayed the amazing experience she had doing the Blitz.

“I’ve had the best time coming out here and visiting these kids,” she said.

“They have been incredibly welcoming and have had great attitudes throughout it all.

“I’m proud to be a part of a club involved in these sorts of initiatives and we’re thankful for the role that Squadron has played in helping us come out here."

The trip included visits to Ilford Public School, Kandos Public School, Dunedoo Central School, Mendooran Central School, Gilgandra Public School, Gilgandra Public School, St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School Gilgandra and St Michaels Catholic Primary, Dunedoo.

A touch footy clinic was also held in Dunedoo along with a Win The Morning event with the Gilgandra Shire Breakfast Club.

The workshops gave advice on staying active, learning how to practice tolerance, respect, and inclusiveness, the importance of good sleep, screen time management, hydration, and nutrition as well as the important role we play in taking care of the environment.

It’s the eleventh year the Community Blitz has been run by the club, with Squadron Energy coming on board last year.
