Rural Women’s Day (RWD) is broadening its incredible work in connecting and supporting rural and regional women across Australia this year with more locations added to the program, including a first in the Northern Territory and Queensland.

This year’s National Weekend event will be held in Ballarat, Victoria, offering a host of events across the entire weekend of 4 and 5 October, including a networking dinner on the Saturday night.

“The expansion of these events is an incredibly exciting chapter for Rural Women's Day that means we will reach more women than we ever have before,” said RWD Founder and Managing Director Jackie Elliott.

“I couldn’t be more grateful to be able to reach more women across Australia and provide them with the RWD experience as a valuable resource connecting rural and regional women, through community, collaboration and celebration.”

What was originally conceived as a one-off event for local women to connect more than five years ago, held in Dunkeld in Victoria, Rural Women’s Day has now grown to an online community of 17,000 followers, published two keepsake magazines and hosted over 40 events spanning across five Australian states.

Rural Women’s Day events will be held in rural and regional towns across Australia in October this year.

The support from RWD national partner Squadron Energy, Australia's leading renewable energy company, has enabled RWD to expand and reach even more regional women across Australia.

Squadron Energy is proud to support Rural Women’s Day in hosting more events across Victoria, NSW, Queensland, South Australia and the Northern Territory.

“Squadron Energy is committed to investing in our communities, and by teaming up with Rural Women’s Day we can support their positive impact, reaching those women who are the cornerstone of their communities and the backbone of our country,” Squadron Energy Head of Community and Stakeholder Engagement Kath Elliott said.
