The Skipton community is gearing up for a day of fun, music and local pride — and thanks to the support of Squadron Energy, the 3rd annual Skipton Spring Festival is set to be bigger and better than ever.
The much-loved community event, which will be held on Sunday, 9 November 2025 at the Skipton Golf & Bowls Club, will celebrate everything that makes the district special – from local produce and craft talent to rural heritage and good old country hospitality.
With free kids’ entertainment and games, food vans, live music, a vintage and classic car show, petting zoo and butterfly house, families from across the region are invited to enjoy a relaxed and affordable day out. There will also be sheep shearing demonstrations, community art and photography exhibitions, and hands-on craft workshops for all ages.
Squadron Energy has backed the festival through Moreton Hill Wind Farm. The wind farm, which is in the planning stage, will generate enough electricity to power 260,000 homes and prevent almost 350,000 tonnes of carbon emissions every year.
Festival organiser Dale McIntyre from Skipton Progress Association said the support of Squadron Energy is vital in helping community events like this thrive.
“This festival is run entirely by volunteers and exists to bring our community together,” he said.
“After the floods and droughts that hit our region in recent years, rebuilding community connection is more important than ever. Support from organisations like Squadron Energy helps us keep this event accessible and enjoyable for everyone.”
Squadron Energy Senior Project Manager Laura Jeffrey said the organisation was proud to get behind the event.
“Regional communities like Skipton are full of spirit, and events like this bring people together in the best way,” she said.
“We’re proud to support a festival that celebrates resilience, local talent and community pride."
To understand what other initiatives are important, Squadron Energy is encouraging community members to share their thoughts on future local community priorities by completing the Moreton Hill Wind Farm Community Investment Survey.
The survey is a part of Squadron Energy's community investment commitment, which is focused on leaving a lasting legacy for the communities where we operate by contributing to local programs and initiatives.
