Three months after its grand opening, the Windeyer playground has been a hit with families throughout the local community.
The playground was unveiled to the public in early August by Mid-Western Regional Council, with investment from Squadron Energy’s Crudine Ridge Wind Farm.
Squadron Energy’s contribution was provided directly to the council and used for the creation of the park.
The park includes swings, a slippery dip, a ladder and ropes for climbing.
Suzanne Walker, who organised the grand opening, said the playground was “very popular” with the residents.
“You drive past and there’s people up there playing,” she said.
“The kids actually have something to do now. They have a playground to play on while the parents are busy.
“It gets used frequently.”
Ms Walker said Squadron Energy “was a lifesaver”, especially with the opening day.
“They [Squadron Energy] actually supplied the sausages, paid the butcher and everything. To get them involved was great.”
She added that the creation of the playground gave the community “a sense of moving forward”.
