Squadron Energy’s Boorolong Wind Farm Project team are helping provide nutritional meals to those in need throughout New England with funding for the Women’s Shelter Armidale Food Project.

Boorolong Wind Farm Project Manager Samuel Newman said the team are passionate about supporting local community programs such as this, providing a vital service for those who needed it most.

“Squadron is committed to contributing to the communities where our projects are based so we can make a real difference,” Mr Newman said.

“By supporting this Food Program, we aim to contribute to the overall well-being of the community, as cost-of-living bites.
“The food program has grown rapidly, and our support will allow it to expand even further, leading to greater outcomes for the broader community.”

The funding will assist the organisation in establishing a commercial kitchen, social impact café and employing hospitality staff.

The Women’s Shelter Armidale provides crisis accommodation and transitional housing to women and their families, as well as giving women the tools and support they need to face and overcome their trauma.

The Food Project currently provides ready-to-go, nutritional meals that could be made available to the broader community, with an aim for the meals to be available without eligibility criteria, cost or obligation.
