A vital accommodation service for cancer patients in Western NSW has officially expanded. With Macquarie Home Stay unveiling a $7 million extension, backed by generous support from rural communities, donors, sponsors, and local leaders.
Those who have support the new wing attended an opening of the Country Women’s Association of NSW guest house, designed specifically to support patients undergoing cancer treatment, including surgery, chemotherapy, and radiotherapy at nearby Dubbo Hospital.
The new wing adds 26 rooms to the already in-demand facility, offering affordable, comfortable accommodation for patients travelling from across the region.
Among the many contributors, Squadron Energy played a small role by sponsoring one of the new rooms. The support came from its three Central West projects - Uungula Wind Farm, Spicers Creek Wind Farm, and Dubbo Firming Power Station - working together to fund a space that will serve patients for years to come.
Every part of the new building has been sponsored, reflecting the deep community commitment to ensure that no patient faces treatment alone.
