Uungula Wind Farm has provided funding to Wellington High School for an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), which will have a huge impact for staff and students with medical conditions.

Prior to this, the closest AED machine was at the local hospital. Having it at the school will be an asset to the entire community.

Squadron Energy Community Relations Advisor Mel Bird said the contribution was an example of Squadron’s dedication to leaving a legacy in the community.

“We want to make sure we’re leaving communities in a better position than before we started the project,” Ms Bird said.

“Health and safety are a top priority for our team. Contributing to better health services for the school and broader community is a huge achievement for us.”

Mr Adam McKeown, Wellington High School Principal, said the school were delighted to receive such an important piece of equipment.

“Having an AED onsite makes our school safer for both students and teachers,” Mr McKeown said.

“It provides incredible piece of mind knowing we have an, at times, lifesaving device right here at school.”
